Producer/Director Bobbie Birleffi and Writer/Producer Beverly Kopf had each established themselves successfully in the non-scripted world of broadcast television when they formed their New York City Production Company, TVGals Media. With Birleffi, an EMMY-Award winning long-form Producer/Director for PBS - Frontline, Bill Moyers, DGA-nominated Director of Texas Ranch House - and cable networks such as A&E, MSNBC, and BRAVO; and Kopf, Producer/Writer/Talent executive for Good Morning America, CBS Morning News, and Entertainment Tonight, as well as the EMMY-Award winning original writer of The View, an extraordinary partnership began. Combining long-form documentary story-telling skills with a crisp pop culture writing style and a knack for bringing out the best in celebrities such as Barbara Walters, Maria Shriver, Meredith Vieira and Julie Taymor, they took on the Big Apple.

 

For more than twelve years, they served a diverse range of clients, from Broadway to print, from broadcast to government, all with a high level of production value, attention to detail, and depth. “Spotlight On Broadway," their legacy project for the NYC Mayor's Office of Media & Entertainment, comprised of forty short films on the history of each of the forty Broadway theaters,  (www.spotlightonbroadway.com) was a groundbreaking achievement. Their independent feature length documentary Chely Wright: Wish Me Away, the compelling story of the first singer in country music to come out as gay, won seven Grand Jury prizes, five Audience Awards, aired on Showtime, Netflix, Hulu and iTunes, and was nominated for an EMMY. In 2014, the team re-located to Los Angeles, with Birleffi taking on the position of Showrunner/Executive Producer of the BRAVO docu-reality series, “Newlyweds: The First Year.” Currently, they are producing videos for the high-end advertising and marketing company YES DESIGN GROUP. Kopf has written two screenplays and a sit-com pilot, which the team is developing for television.
